At RChobbylab, our goal is to help you learn more quickly about the RC world, including RC cars and FPV drones. So when it comes to purchasing decisions, we take caution and care with every product we research, test, and recommend.
We do market research, interview industry experts, and test products in our editors’ own homes to give you trustworthy product recommendations and share reviews you can trust. While we receive an affiliate commission on some of the products purchased through our content, our recommendations are based solely on performance, test results, and hands-on experience.
How We Make Money
We receive an affiliate commission on some, but not all, of the products we recommend—but only if you decide to click through to the retailer’s site and make a purchase.
We only recommend trusted retailers with a proven track record for service and dependability.
Our Testing Process
Before testing any product, our team of writers and editors conducts exhaustive research on the market and interviews industry experts, including certified drone instructors and pilots, for guidance on product considerations and evaluation methods.
We then develop a detailed test methodology that helps us rate products based on value, performance, and other attributes.
Next, we select a number of products for each test. These products cover different retailers, prices, user reviews, brand authority, and more. Our job requires us to spend a lot of time shopping online, and we want to pass on some of our expert knowledge to you.
We also know that everyone has their own unique preferences and tastes, so we want to offer some vetted options and always consider value when making recommendations. While we may receive some products for free, the vast majority of products we test are purchased.
We don’t
Things you will NEVER find on RChobby Lab.
Take sponsorship fees
Many brands are ready to pay us good money to be featured higher on our pages but always refuse these offers. We feel it’s our editorial responsibility to feature the best product to you because we love RC worldmore than money.
Post anything without thorough research
All our articles went through a thorough research process, and we don’t make recommendations lightly. So if you read it on our site, you can be sure it’s gone through all the points above, and you can trust the advice.
Defying the advice of professional pilots and state agencies
It’s popular to defy the advice of regulatory agencies or drone professionals, but we don’t do that. If an expert tells us he wouldn’t use this drone or RC car, then we won’t post such a product on our site, regardless of our personal opinions or beliefs.
